"Sarah Maclaine brings classic jazz into the modern world with her beautiful voice. She has the expression of a singer from the past but adds her "today" twist. She is a reminder of the good old days, with an outstanding presence of being in the now. You only need to see her once to be hooked."
- LIBERTY DEVITTO (30 years drums / Billy Joel)
Sarah moves with ease from pop to jazz, blues to r&b.
You name it, she does it!
An accomplished acoustic guitarist with a twist. His finger-style technique is innovative; blending acoustic guitar with a guitar synth & vocal harmoniser, creating an intriguing auditory illusion. His signature sound is rich and full and is produced completely “live” (no backing tracks or loopers). A testament to his musicianship, he has performed with Aussie music greats from the 70’s including Colleen Hewett, John (Swanee) Swan, Normie Rowe, Jon English, Brian Cadd, Doug Parkinson, John St Peeters and Marty Rhone, as well as many of Melbourne's finest session singers and musos. He has performed live on Channel 7, NITV, 3AW and ABC Radio
His repertoire is vast, embracing many genres from Soul, Pop, Rock, Funk, Latin & Jazz but he shines when performing contemporary hits from all eras, unashamedly aimed at keeping the audience engaged and entertained. Audaciously performing requests on demand and challenging anthems such as “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “You’re the Voice”, with just his acoustic guitar, are the norm at a Tony “Baf” Live gig.
At the S Lounge, Tony ‘Baf” has performed with the incredibly gifted Sarah Maclaine. Sarah and Tony have had a special musical connection since their first gig together over 11 years ago. Unrehearsed and unplanned, their performance naturally blended perfectly. They have recorded and performed regularly together ever since. Sarah Maclaine and Tony “Baf” are a must see.
